DAY OF CARING

12:00 am - 11:00 pm

The 27th annual Day of Caring will take place on Wednesday, September 18. Registration is now open for both volunteer teams and agency projects. The two main objectives of Day of Caring are to provide non-profit human service agencies with an opportunity to complete projects that they otherwise could not afford to do, and to involve volunteers in first-hand experience with area charities.

The Day of Caring is a great tradition for many reasons but one reason being that it allows the community to come together. Each year more people want to give back to our community, which is the most rewarding part of this entire event. United Way is currently seeking projects from non-profit human service agencies. Any incorporated non-profit or government entity, school, or neighborhood association is encouraged to submit projects. Agencies do not have to be a United Way partner program to benefit from Day of Caring – anyone is welcome to participate. All kinds of projects, big and small are welcome.

Teams of caring individuals in Mifflin and Juniata counties who want to make a difference in their local community are also needed. Teams are formed from individuals at local businesses, associations, service groups, and other non-profits. Teams can be any size and any skill level. Day of Caring is a free event for volunteer participants, which is made possible by the generosity of sponsors.

The registration deadline for both projects and teams is August 19, 2024. For more information or to register a project or a team, visit www.mjunitedway.org .
