JUNIATA DONKEY BASKETBALL GAME

Juniata Student Council present Donkey Basketball on Thursday, February 29, 7PM in the school gym. There will be donkey rides, a 50/50 drawing, door prizes, raffle baskets, concession stands on site too.

There will also be a Teddy Bear collection at the event. Teddy bears will be donated to the local PSP barracks for children that may be involved in incidents. These will be collected by Helping Hands of JCo. Each donation will give you a ticket towards a giveaway!

3RD ANNUAL BILL LEISTER MEMORIAL POOL TOURNAMENT

The 3rd annual Bill Leister Memorial Pool Tournament will be held Saturday, March 2. Sign-ups are from 11 to 11:30AM. Pool tournament format dependent on the number of entries. HOMESCHOOL HANGOUT AT THE JUNIATA COUNTY LIBRARY

Join the Juniata County Library once a month for some fun, informative programs for homeschool families! You’ll meet at 10AM in the lower level community room. You can get preregistered for any of the hangouts here! The schedule is as follows:

March 12 – Art Appreciation – “Making with Monet”: Community friend, Judy Mummau, will join everyone for a fun lesson about artist Claude Monet and you will create using his famous techniques.

April 4 – Hands Only CPR and Lifesaving Skills: Taught by Evangelical Hospital Community Health & Wellness Educator Ann D, students will learn lifesaving skills, such as using hands only CPR, calling 911, and what to do if you or someone around you is choking. This program is for grades 3 and older and preregistration is required. They must have at least 12 students registered for this class to take place.

EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS CLASS FOR KIDS

No matter how hard we try to prevent them, emergencies happen. Sign up for a free Emergency Preparedness Class for Kids to make sure your kids are prepared and know how to help! This is class is set for Saturday, May 4 from 9:30AM to 2PM at the Port Royal Community Building. It’s open to kids ages 8-16.

The class will include:
-Talk with a 911 dispatcher and learn what questions they ask and how they help child callers (Juniata County 911 Center)
-Learn basic CPR and First Aid skills (Geisinger Lewistown Hospital)
-Explore common tools used on the ambulance and watch fire safety demonstrations (Port Royal EMS & Friendship Fire Company #1)
-Learn to recognize and handle dangerous situations/people (A Warrior Woman Self-Defense)
