Friday May 2, 9 and 16
Saturday May 3, 10 and 17
Sunday May 11 and 18
Lillie Scones is a sweet retired nanny who runs a boarding house with one resident and “a cat the size of the Louisiana Purchase.” Her two friends, Jocelyn and Carmella, help to pass the time by listening to music and gossiping. Then Stuart, an old charge of hers, rents a room. Lillie is tickled to have him around again, not knowing he is planning on robbing the bank on the corner. Stuart’s mind may not be totally on the bank job, however, when he meets Betty. However, when Stuart finds out that Betty is about to graduate from an academy on the very night they plan to rob the bank, the perfect alibi presents itself – why not go to the graduation, be seen there, sneak out and rob the bank. Perfect, thinks Little Pat, Stuart’s wise-cracking sidekick. Unfortunately for the two would-be crooks the graduation is at a police academy. Throw in a chief of police, a suspicious fiancé and a half-pint brat with an “Al Capone do-it-yourself tool kit,” and nobody knows what will happen next. In the spirit of Frank Capra, this tale of a bank heist and three retired nannies has all the classic comedy twists and surprises fit for any audiences.

The BPF is hosting this exciting fundraiser on Saturday, May 31 at Good Shephard Parish Hall in Port Matilda. The doors open at 5:30PM with the horse racing action beginning at 6:30PM. Purchase your tickets online at https://bob-perks-cancer-assistance-fund.square.site/ or by calling 814-231-2692. Tickets for the event are $40 per person and include a buffet-style dinner and drinks. Reserve a table for six, eight, or ten. Sponsorship opportunities are available. Actual races will be shown and called by a live professional announcer to recreate the racetrack experience. Guests are invited to place wagers on the races. They hope everyone will attend the Night at the Races on May 31 to support our friends and neighbors battling cancer.
Since their inception, BPF has raised over 3 million dollars to support local cancer patients to pay essential living expenses. For patients receiving this support, it offers a lifeline to cover many of their basic needs, often preventing eviction and utility shut-offs so they may focus on treatment and recovery.
In 2006, BPF was founded in memory of Bob Perks, a State College native, who passed in 2005 after a long battle with melanoma. The BPF helps ease the financial burden of cancer patients who live in Bedford, Blair, Centre, Clearfield, Huntingdon, Juniata, and Mifflin Counties.
