The Downtown Discovery Contest is back and rolls on until April 21. 34 numbered, cardboard eggs have been hidden throughout the Downtown Lewistown area in the windows and storefronts of local businesses. All eggs can be safely seen from outside. But it’s up to you to find them! This contest is open to children ages 3-11 but must be accompanied by an adult. Paisley Henry was born on February 10 and diagnosed with severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID). She has no immune system and will require a bone marrow transplant to treat this disease. Paisley was admitted to Hershey Children’s Hospital on March 24 to begin preparations for her bone marrow transplant on April 4. Paisley will then begin her 100 days of monitoring, where Morgan and Paisley will be in the hospital for approximately 42 days and then spend the remainder of the time in the apartment near the hospital. Paisley’s full recovery will take 6-8 month, if all goes well.

TIU 11 Juniata County Early Childhood Services is hosting their 2025 Family Fun Fair on Thursday, May 8 from 4 to 7PM at the Juniata County Fairgrounds. This year’s there is a Children’s Book theme. Dress up like your favorite book character for an extra raffle entry! The first 50 kids to get developmental screenings, get a book.

There will be raffles, a strolling magician, hot dogs, snow cones, petting zoo, car seat safety checks, and more! Our very own Aly Reichenbach will be onsite, broadcasting live from 4-6PM. United Way of Mifflin-Juniata is hosting the 4th Golf United Classic on May 9 at the Lewistown Country Club. The cost for team of four is $420. The tournament is a scramble format. Your tournament fee includes green fees, cart, lunch, beverages, door prizes, giveaways and awards. Registration is at 10:15AM, light lunch at 10:45 and the shot gun start is at Noon. Nichole is in for a long journey ahead. Due to her radiation from her beating cancer, the radiation had burned the top of her lung, leaving her diaphragm on the right side paralyzed. For her treatment, she will be out of work for over a year, could be even more. She will be down in Pittsburgh for 3 months once the proceeds begins to receive her new lungs. Let’s help you along her road to recovery.

Midd Penn Cornhole is hosting a Benefit Tournament on Saturday, May 10 at the Lewistown Armory. Registration starts at 11AM and the bags will fly at Noon. The cost is $40 per team. Proceeds support Battalion 2-112 National Guard Infantry Regiment and soldiers and their families.

This will be a Bring your own partner tournament. Everyone will be guaranteed a minimum of 6 games. Depending on the number of teams, they will separate teams into Competitive and Social brackets after Round Robin part of tournament. No need to bring bags this will be a Slide Rite Tournament. Throw in a chief of police, a suspicious fiancé and a half-pint brat with an “Al Capone do-it-yourself tool kit,” and nobody knows what will happen next. In the spirit of Frank Capra, this tale of a bank heist and three retired nannies has all the classic comedy twists and surprises fit for any audiences.

The Cody Foundation was established in 2005 to honor the memory of Cody Robert Yohn, an outstanding athlete and honors student, at Greenwood High School. Since its inception The CODY foundation has given out over $65,000 dollars in grants and scholarships!

Mifflintown Borough Council presents National Night Out on Tuesday, August 5, beginning at 5PM at Myers Park. Join them to promote strong community policing partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie, safe neighborhoods and a pleasant place to live and work.

There will be games, a bounce house, pony rides, activities, live music from Bella Donna, face painting, food vendors. Plus enjoy free popcorn and a move beginning at dusk. Please bring your own chairs and blankets. The featured film is The Wild Robot.
