MIFFLIN COUNTY MARCHING HUSKIES WIN THIRD STRAIGHT STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

The Mifflin County High School Marching Band traveled to Mansion Park Stadium in Altoona on Saturday for the Tournament of Bands PA State Championship Competition AND, for the third straight year , came home as champions!

Band Director Art Belfiore said, “The band had their best performance of the year in spite of the 15 to 25 mph winds.” 

The band’s score of 92.80 was the highest of the year and put the band back in first place in TOB’s Group 4-Open Class going into this weekend’s Atlantic Coast Championships which will be held at Hersheypark Stadium. 

The band also won the Specialty Awards for Best Music, Visual, Drum Line and Color Guard.  Caleb Noerr, Junior Baritone Soloist, also won the award for Group 4 Best Performer which is a weekly award given by TOB.

Belfiore also said, “The staff, boosters and parents could not be more proud of the students.  It was a great weekend for us, the last game at Mitchell Field with a come-from-behind victory for the team and then our best performance on Saturday.  We are really looking forward to our last week of the competiitive season and another great show in Hershey.”
