Juniata Terreace is turning 100 years old this summer. 100!
Back in 1923 the construction of the Juniata Terrace was started, building row homes for employees of the American Viscose plant. By 1925, the building of Juniata Terrace was completed and the 250 homes were occupied by workers, and their families.
After the closing of the American Viscose, a civic association was created, at which time the selling of these houses to private individuals took place. This unique community afforded us the opportunity to become our own Borough in 1967.
Juniata Terrace is a walk back in time, existing entirely as it was designed and constructed in the early 1920’s.
And now, to celebrate its 100th anniversary, a big celebration is being planned this August.
