EAST JUNIATA’S JOSEF BOOK WINS STATE TITLE; LEADS GROUP OF LOCAL MEDALISTS

What a weekend it was for East Juniata’s Josef Book! The Tiger senior won a state championship in the AA 300 meter hurdles and finished third in the 1110 hurdles! Not bad, right?

Midd-West had an amazing weekend as well, with a pair of state championships. Camryn Pyle won the 300 hurdles and the Mustangs’ 4×800 AA boys relay team (Anden Aitkins Ben Hummel Connor Stoltzfus Wyatt Nelson) also won a state title.

Huntingdon’s Tyler Rader placed second in the AA 800 and fourth in the AA 1,600!

State indoor champ Carter Smith added to his accomplishments, placing third in the outdoor AAA 800, setting a new school record in the process!

Juniata’s Jasper Shepps medaled, placing fourth in the AA high jump.

Coming in seventh place, in the AA 300 hurdles, was Greenwood’s Rebekah Brinser.

And, finishing eight, also earning team points, were Juniata’s Wyatt Stroup (AA 3200), Juniata Valley’s Bryce Weirich (AA pole vault) and Midd West’s , 4×400 AA boys relay (Connor Stoltzfus Wyatt Nelson Ben Hummel Anden Aitkins).
