Petty Officer 2nd Class William Pyle was recently selected as Sailor of the Quarter for the second quarter of 2025 while serving with Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command (NMRTC) Jacksonville, Florida. Pyle’s father, Fred Pyle, is a native of Mifflintown.
The Navy’s Sailor of the Quarter program recognizes sailors for outstanding character, dedication and going above and beyond their duties. Pyle was also awarded a flag letter of commendation.“
This award speaks volumes to the support that my leaders, peers and junior sailors have given to me, which made it possible for me to receive this award,” Pyle said. “The right and only thing to do now is pay it forward to my sailors.”
Pyle joined the Navy six years ago and now serves as a hospital corpsman.
