Washington & Jefferson freshman Taylor Smith (Mifflintown, Pa./Juniata) recently wrapped up an incredible first year for the Presidents.
Smith earned an amazing six Presidents Athletics Conference Newcomer of the Week awards. He was also the conference’s Wrestler of the Week back in November, as well as W&J’s President of the Week two times.
The former Indian earned Presidents’ Athletic Conference Most Outstanding Wrestler of the Tournament back in February, shortly before winning the 149-pound title at the Southeast Regional.
He also surpassed head coach Sonnie Blanco’s single-season record for victories, going 50-7 this year, culminating with a 2-2 record at the NCAA Division III championships.
