Mifflintown Borough Council presents National Night Out on Tuesday, August 5, beginning at 5PM at Myers Park. Join them to promote strong community policing partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie, safe neighborhoods and a pleasant place to live and work.

Rhoda has had 2 devastating events happen to her within just a few short months. First, she lost everything in a house fire and secondly, she lost her husband. The 13th annual ROFF Doggie Splash will be held on Sunday, August 24 at the Burnham Community Pool from Noon to 3PM. Does your dog LOVE the water and enjoy swimming? Bring them out to the pool to enjoy the afternoon! Dog handlers must be at least 16 years old. All dogs must be up to date with rabies vaccination and license. The cost is $5 per dog. Any additional dog is $3.

The Blacksmith Shop will be open at Greenwood Furnace State park on Saturday, August 24 from 10AM to 2PM. Come in and explore the past with park staff. Learn about the village, built around an inferno through displays on Greenwood Furnace and ironmaking.

Join Juniata Valley Bank for the Bookin’ It 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, September 20 in Mifflintown. This exciting event features a 5k run and walk, welcoming participants of all ages and fitness levels to support the Juniata County Library. The race will be beginning in front of Heister House and follow Old Route 22 to the Old Canal House and loop back to Heister House.

Liverpool Fire Rescue will host Bingo at the Millerstown Moose on Saturday, September 27. Doors open at Noon and the games start at 1PM. 19 regular games will be played and 1 blackout game. ($2,300 in total prize money) Cash prizes for all games. Raffles, 50/50, and games of chance also during the event. Food and drink available for purchase from Millerstown. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. All proceeds from the event benefit Liverpool Fire Rescue.

Save the date for the unveiling of Juniata County’s America250PA Liberty Bell on Sunday, September 28 at 2PM at the Pomeroy-Academia Covered Bridge in Port Royal. This bell and location will be a part of the “Bells Across PA” program and map for 2026. This event is open to the public.

The 5th annual Oktbooberfest, promoting early detection of breast cancer will be held on Saturday, October 4 at Wingman Brew N Que from Noon to 3PM. This fundraiser will feature a beer stein holding contest, “Punkin Chuckin” contest, music, basket raffles, 50/50 drawing, and of course great food and drinks by Wingman! The GriefShare support group, a compassionate community for those navigating the journey of grief will be held at Allensville Mennonite Church. This 12-week program offers comfort, encouragement, and practical tools to help you heal. The program starts on September 7 and runs through November 23 each Sunday from 3:30 to 5PM.
