Central Dauphin won last night’s showdown between the top two wrestling teams in the Mid Penn Commonwealth. Nic Allison, Kyler Everly, Trey Shoemaker and Trey Kibe all won by fall but CD beat Mifflin County 40-28.
East Juniata’s girls basketball team got a game-high 17 points from Clarye Guyer in beating cross-county rival Juniata last night, 60-26. Olivia Clark and Mackenzie Bennett had six each for the Indians.
East Juniata’s boys, meanwhile, lost to Southern Huntingdon, 65-53. Billy Dressler scored a team-high 16 for the Tigers.
Halee Smith scored 27 points for Juniata Valley, as the Green Hornets picked up a road victory over Claysburg, 66-46. Former Green Hornet Taylor Leidy, meanwhile, scored eight points for Lock Haven University in an 82-75 win over Millersville.
For only the third time ever, Penn State’s men won at Michigan. The Lions improved to 14-5 with last night’s 72-63 win in Ann Arbor.
Toronto pulled away in the last four minutes to beat the visiting Sixers last night, 107-95.
And there is a warrant out for the arrest of former Pittsburgh Steeler Antonio Brown. Police in Hollywood, Florida are following up on charges that Brown and his trainer attacked a moving company truck driver earlier this week.
