LOCAL SPORTS | DECEMBER 13, 2019

Hannah Bonson won a pair of individual events and was part of a winning relay but it wasn’t quite enough, as State College outswam the Mifflin County girls, 105-56. The Husky boys lost also lost, 113-6.

 

Jared Shelley bowled a 244, 600 over three games last night, helping Mifflin County defeat York by 21 pins. Mifflin County is at Milton tonight.

 

The Penguins scored the only goal of the game in overtime, slipping past visiting Columbus, 1-0.

 

The Sixers, meanwhile, won on the road, taking down Boston, 115-109, thanks in part to a 38 point, 13 rebound effort from Joel Embiid.

 

Penn State linebacker Micah Parsons has been named to the Walter Camp All-American second team. He was also named Butkus-Fitzgerald Linebacker of the Year, the first sophomore to earn that Big Ten honor.

 

And Baltimore’s Lamar Jackson accounted for five touchdowns and set the NFL rushing record by a quarterback as the Ravens took care of the New York Jets last night, 42-21.
