Bryce Harper’s walk-off grand slam capped a six-run bottom of the ninth, as the Phillies defeated the visiting Chicago Cubs, 7-5. The Cubbies shift over to Pittsburgh for a weekend series against the Pirates, who had yesterday off. The Fightin’s welcome in San Diego this weekend.

Harrisburg pounded Altoona down on the farm, 12-1. Mahoning Valley downed the Spikes, 5-2. And a reminder, tomorrow night is Mifflin and Juniata County Night at the Spikes game against Auburn. Legendary Penn State wrestler David Taylor will be on-hand signing autographs and the first 1,000 through the gate get a free David Taylor bobblehead.

Port Royal Speedway is back at it this weekend. After a week off, the Port will host the World of Outlaws Late Models and run 410’s.  Defending track points champ Logan Wagner leads the pack again this year, 365 points ahead of Dylan Cisney.  Selinsgrove Speedway, meanwhile, will host four divisions tomorrow night, including 360’s and Pro Stocks.

The Juniata Valley Striders will hold cross country registrations this coming Monday at the old Highland Park Elementary School from six til seven o’clock.

Eagles over Jacksonville in preseason football, 24-10. The Steelers host Kansas City tomorrow.

And the Mifflin County boy’s track and field team has been named winner of the Mid Penn’s Spring Sports Sportsmanship Award.
