Mifflin County alum and North Carolina State redshirt freshman Trent Hidlay is competing in the Junior World Championships. The event takes place tomorrow and Wednesday in Estonia.

The Phillies lost in San Francisco in yesterday’s nationally telecast late game, 9-6. The Pirates, meanwhile, lost their eighth in a row. St. Louis over the visiting Bucs, 11-9.

Down on the farm, Williamsport bested State College, 10-3, Trenton topped Harrisburg, 7-5, and Reading took out Altoona, 7-3.

Kevin Harvick won yesterday’s NASCAR Monster Energy race. Denny Hamlin ran second. At Selinsgrove Speedway, Jared Miley won Late Models. Devin Adams took 305’s, Brandon Moser Pro Stocks and Jake Jones Roadrunners. Port Royal had the weekend off.

Patrick Reed was the PGA winner, winning in Jersey City by a stroke at -16.

And Pittsburgh Steelers wide receivers coach Darryl Drake passed away suddenly. The team canceled its workouts yesterday and today. Drake was just 62 years old.
