June statistics have been released by the Mifflin County Regional Police Department.  The department completed three hundred and nine (309) incident reports last month.  Regional Officers investigated eleven (11) incidents of theft or fraud, and twenty-eight (28) motor vehicle accidents.  Regional Officers issued sixty-two (62) traffic citations, and seven (7) non-traffic citations.  In addition, Regional Officers made four (4) arrests for driving while under the influence during June.  Mifflin County Regional Police serve Burnham Borough, Brown, Derry and Union Townships.


The American Red Cross is in urgent need of blood.  The bloodmobile will visit the Reedsville Fire Company on Firehouse Boulevard today from 1:30 pm to 7:00 pm.  The Red Cross has issued an urgent call for blood and platelet donors of all blood types.   There is less than a three-day supply of most blood types available – and less than a two-day supply of type-O blood.  At least a five-day supply is desired.


Work will close a Huntingdon County roadway later this week.  Route 4023 – Hundred Springs Road in Warriors Mark Township will be closed to thru-traffic on Friday (July 19th) from 6:30 am to 2:00 pm.  The closure will be 1/2 – mile from the intersection with Birmingham Pike (Route 453).  The road will be closed for one day only.


More than 340,000 Pennsylvanians served in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War.  The Pennsylvania Military Museum in Boalsburg, remembers with its annual “Vietnam Revisited” encampment on July 20th and 21st.   Living historians representing U.S. Army ground and airborne units, Navy Seals, U.S. Navy Seabees will present an interpretation of life in the field this weekend.  The Military Museum and 28th Division Shrine is administered by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission.  For more information on activities, call 814-466-6263 or visit www.pamilmuseum.org.
