The Lions Clubs of Mifflin County are currently conducting a zone service project to collect nonperishable canned food items to be distributed to Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard of Lewistown just in time for the Christmas holiday. Their goal is to collect a minimum of 500 pounds of nonperishable unexpired canned goods.

The collected items will be distributed to needy families throughout Mifflin County. Collection day is Tuesday, December 21 from 8:30 to 9:30AM at the Lewistown Walmart parking lot in the very front closest to Business US 22 near the McDonald’s. Brad Wingard, the Zone Chairman, will be wearing his Santa Claus hat and collecting all donations in his sleigh (Silver GMC Sierra).
