A Community Comfort Event with LCC K-9 Comfort Dogs will be held Saturday, July 1 from 10AM to 4PM at Myers Park in Mifflintown. This FREE event has been organized by the Officers and Board of Directors of the Paul W. DeLauter Youth Center with Mayor Roxann McGinnis and the Borough of Mifflintown.

This event is being held to recognize the service of our PA State Police and area first responders while providing comfort for them and their families, as well as providing comfort and support to all of our area’s children, youth and adults who were affected by the tragic shooting on Saturday, June 17.

In attendance will be Comfort Dog Kezia from Maryland and Comfort Dog Amos from Virginia with their handlers to meet with you and offer support. We kindly ask that you leave your pets at home. The Pennsylvania State Police Critical Incident Stress Management Team will be at the park for a brief presentation and to hand out information. In the event of rain, this will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church in Mifflintown.
