When she was a senior at Greenwood High School,  Mallory Kauffman won state titles in both the discus and shot put. Then she took her talents to University Park, where she has starred for Penn State the last several years, most recently quailifying for the national finals in the shot put for the second consecutive season with a fifth-place finish in the first round of the NCAA championships.

Already the Penn State program record holder in the outdoor shot put, she is also sits third in school history in the indoor shot put! Yea, she’s goooood!

She’s smart, too. Kauffman, an Elementary & Early Childhood Education with a 3.58 GPA, is a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar, a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, and a USTFCCCA All-Academic Team member has added CSC Academic All-District recognition to her growing list of accolades.

We’ll be pulling for Mallory at NCAA’s this week, as will all of Millerstown and the rest of central PA! Good luck, Mallory!
