The Mifflin County High School Drama Club invites you to make room for ogre-sized family fun as you follow along with the greatest fairy tale never told — Shrek the Musical! MCHS’s talented team of cast and crew returns this winter with the colorful, song-filled story of Shrek. Held in the Mifflin County High School Auditorium, the production runs:
Friday, February 10 at 6:30PM
Saturday, February 11 at 6:30PM
Sunday February 12 at 1:00PM.
Shrek the Musical brings to life, on stage, all the beloved characters you know from the popular Dreamworks animated movie, and proves there’s more to the story than meets the ears.
“Once upon a time, there was a little ogre named Shrek….” And thus begins the tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking Donkey and a feisty princess who resists her rescue. Throw in a short-tempered bad guy, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you’ve got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there’s one on hand… and his name is Shrek.
Appropriate for all ages– the young and the young-at-heart!
“Our recent musicals have been filled with special effects, elaborate costuming, high-energy dance routines and unexpected stunts. I’m excited to see the audience’s reaction to what we have planned for Shrek,” said Drama Club Advisor Erin Campbell.
Tickets ($10 each) can be purchased in advance stopping by the school between 3:15 and 5 on Wednesday (February 8) or at the door. Limited tickets will be available at the door the day of the production.
