The annual Battle of the Morning Shows is coming up on Friday, December 2, from 11-1 in downtown Lewistown.
After some early struggles, we’ve rebounded and, over the last 15 years or so, the Merf Morning Show has beaten our other Seven Mountains Media Lewistown stations more often than not…thanks to you!
We take your donations on the square in downtown Lewistown during the Battle itself but you can raise money well in advance. We can even collect it prior if that helps you out. The only thing is, anything that comes in after 1pm on December 2 does not count towards our total. So basically, we can collect now through the end of the competition.
We’ve had the help of the Mifflin County Middle School student council for years. A ton of other area groups and businesses pitch in on a yearly basis, too. Burger King is back Black Friday weekend with 50 cents from every Whopper sold going to our team.
On Thanksgiving Eve, Cora’s Creekside Tavern will Give Thanks & Give Back, donating 10% of gift card sales that day to the Merf Morning Show teams!
On November 19th (8am-5p) and November 20th (1-5pm) during their Open House, the Logan House will be accepting donations for our team while you check out their beautiful selection of unique gifts, women’s clothing and more!
The Building 10 crew is doing work for us, too!
Mid Penn Cornhole will be holding a Blind Draw Cornhole tournament at the Lewistown Moose on Wed November 23rd.Raffles, 50/50 drawings and part of the entry fees will go to the Merf team! Click here for more info on the event.
Also, RC3, the Ryan Carter Trio, will be donating all of their tips from their November 27th show (3-8pm) at Birch Hill to our team!
The thing is, it is always easier to get new groups involved by talking about the ones that are already helping out. If you have any kind of fundraiser going on, big or small, please email Rocco Pallotto at firstname.lastname@example.org.The more we talk about ongoing events, the more new ones pop up.
Also, if you have any questions about how the Battle works, again, feel free to email email@example.com.
All the money raised by all of our stations stays local, benefitting the Salvation Army.
Thanks in advance for your continued support. You’re the best. – Rocco
