The Mifflin County Marching Band traveled to Mount Joy, PA on Saturday to compete at Donegal High School’s “Green Nation Band Celebration”. The Marching Huskies finished in first place with a score of 78.600, also winning the Specialty Awards for Best Drum Line and Best Color Guard.

Band Director Art Belfiore said, “the band had their best practices of the season on Thursday and Saturday. The MCHS Band has 27 first year members, which is 33% of the band and they are also the largest and youngest band ever at MCHS. In spite of all that they performed like Champions at Donegal.”

The band’s score puts it in second place overall in TOB’s Group 3-A Class behind Jackson-Liberty High School from Jackson Township, NJ.

The band will be in competition again next Saturday afternoon at Huntingdon’s War Veterans Memorial Field. That show starts at 1 PM and MCHS takes the field at 3:30 PM. Tickets and show information can be obtained by contacting Art Belfiore at Mifflin County HS.
