The 44th annual Goose Day 5K Run, one of central Pennsylvania’s oldest races is set for Saturday, September 24 on Monument Square in Downtown Lewistown. Race time is 9:00 am.

Organized by the Juniata Valley Striders Running Club, the race is mainstay of Mifflin County’s Goose Day celebration.

Again this year, the top overall male and female winners, as well as the top male and female masters’ winners, will take home the traditional Goose Day trophies, as will the first places in nine male and nine female age groups.

Short-sleeve technical shirts will be available to the first 100 runners to register, with a limited additional supply on race day.

Pre-registration is $20 for individual adult runners. Those 18 and under pay just $15. There are also special rates for families: $30 for two members, $40 for three, and $50 for four. Race day registration, which begins at 7:45 am, is $25 for all runners.

Race applications are available on the Juniata Valley Striders’ website at www.jvstriders.com, on the club’s Facebook page or by clicking here.

Proceeds from the Goose Day Run support the Juniata Valley Striders’ youth track and field and cross country programs, and help fund the running club’s annual high school scholarship program.
