North Carolina State wrestler Trent Hidlay has been named to the 2022 CoSIDA Academic All-America At-Large team, recognizing the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom. He earned second-team honors.
Hidlay has maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA and recently received his undergrad degree in business administration with two years of eligibility remaining on the mat.
He was named the 2022 ACC Wrestling Scholar-Athlete of the Year, and has been named a 2020, 2021 and 2022 NWCA Scholar All-American in addition to his three-time selection to the All-ACC Academic Wrestling Team.
On the mat, Hidlay recently captured Gold at the U23 World Team Trials, and will represent the U.S. at the U23 World Championships in Spain in September.
This marks the second straight year a Wolfpack wrestler was named a CoSIDA Academic All-American. Last year, older brother Hayden was named a third-team selection. They are the only two wrestlers in school history to receive the honor.
For the second straight year, NC State is the lone ACC school to have a wrestler receive CoSIDA Academic All-American honors.
