Community Cares $5 Fund (CC5) is a new non-profit organization that will benefit residents of Juniata County. Our mission statement is “To show the power of community, $5 at a time, through charitable kindness that will provide a “hand up” to the hard-working families of Juniata County by assisting with basic needs such as food, heating oil assistance and utility shut-off prevention.”

What makes us different is our 2-fold goals: First, our target is individuals that have nowhere else to turn. Our applicants will be hard-working families that fall into a gap; those that cannot receive public assistance or LIHEAP benefits because their income disqualifies them. Second, we want to recognize the giving nature of our community and provide a way for every individual to make a difference through small, $5 donations that will combine to provide services to others in need.

“It does not take a lot of financial means to care. If everybody cares a little, it can make a big difference! That shows the strength of a community!” -Melissa Graybill, Founder/President
