State legislators are questioning Governor Tom Wolf’s school masking mandate. The Pennsylvania House Health Committee recently requested a determination from the Commonwealth Joint Committee on Documents. The request asks if the Wolf administration’s mandate is subject to the regulatory process and the Regulatory Review Act. The committee cites Section 7.1 of the Act (Act 181 of 1982). The Joint Committee shall determine whether the mandate should be interpreted as a regulation.
A Lewistown man faces numerous charges after allegedly having sexual intercourse with a child. Lewistown Police arrested 28-year-old Garth Kline on September 16th for his involvement with a 10-year-old child. During the investigation, Kline admitted to the crime. He was charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and other counts including corruption of minors. Bail was set at $100,000. Kline was placed in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility.
Authorities in Huntingdon County are searching for an individual involved in making terroristic threats in the Borough of Dudley. According to State Police, the incident took place September 16th at 12:30 pm on School Street. The suspect fired three rounds from a 9 mm firearm into the air, and then threw an axe through a car window before fleeing the scene. The investigation will continue.
