A solid weekend for football in the state. Penn State got things started with Saturday’s  44-13 win over Ball State while, on Sunday, the Eagles cruised past Atlanta, 32-6, and the Steelers scored 17 fourth quarter points to come from behind to beat Buffalo, 23-16.

The Phillies lost to Colorado yesterday, 5-4, while NL East-leading Atlanta beat Miami, 5-3. The Braves now hold a 4.5 game divisional lead. The Fightin’s are 2.5 out in the wild card race. The long-since eliminated Pirates, meanwhile, lost to Washington, 6-2.

And ESPN’s GameDay will return to Happy Valley this Saturday for Penn State’s home game with Auburn. The show will air from nine til noon with kickoff coming in prime time.
