Henry Rivas scored the hat trick for Juniata as the Indians rolled past Susquenita, 9-3, in boy’s soccer. Juniata’s girls, meanwhile, cruised past Halifax, 10-0. Also yesterday, East Juniata’s boys got a pair of goals from Jake Brackbill in beating Halifax, 3-1. Millersburg nipped the Tiger girls, 1-0.

Adrianna King had 15 assists to help the Juniata volleyball team beat Midd-West in four sets, 3-1. EJ won in three straight against South Williamsport.

Mifflin County’s Reagan Shafranich competed in yesterday’s Mid Penn girl’s golf match, shooting a 108, good for 27th place on the day. Tanner Barth, meanwhile, shot a team-best 79 to help East Juniata come in second place in a four-team match. Newport was first, Millersburg was third. Susquenita didn’t field enough players for a team score.

Line Mountain, meanwhile, shut out the EJ field hockey team, 7-0.

The Phillies lost a home game with Colorado, 4-3, while Atlanta beat Washington in 10, 7-6, giving the Braves a 3.5 game lead in the NL East.

Dallas led by a point when Tom Brady and Tampa Bay got the ball back with 1:24 to play in last night’s NFL season-opener. You can probably guess how this one ended. Brady engineered a drive that culminated in a 36-yard field goal and a 31-29 Buccaneers’ win.

Penn State makes its home debut, taking on Ball State tomorrow at Beaver Stadium. Kickoff is set for 3:30.

And, in Minor League Baseball action yesterday, Bowie knocked off Harrisburg, 5-3, and Altoona topped Erie, 8-3.
