As we’re sure you heard by now, the Mifflin County 15-year-old all-stars are headed to the Babe Ruth World Series! The tourney starts August 11 and there is work to be done before the team and families depart for Eagle Pass, Texas.

Unlike years past, airline tickets for the players and coaches will not be fully covered. In addition, families will be paying for flight tickets, hotels and rental cars, not to mention food and incidentals.

Like always, this community is stepping up big time. There are already several fundraising events planned (see below). If you have one and would like us to help publicize it, please send all the info to rocco@merfradio.com.

Check back here often for updates.

Donations can be made to the Kish Bank branch on Electric Avenue in Lewistown. Checks can be made payable to “Miffin County Babe Ruth 15-Year-Old All-Stars.” Everyone flies out the 9th, so donations made prior to the 8th that would be most appreciated.
