Phillies’ starter Vince Velazquez was really good last night, tossing seven scoreless and allowing just two hits. The bullpen wasn’t quite as good but did hold on as the Fightin’s nipped Miami, 4-3. Colorado, meanwhile, shut out the Pirates for the second day in a row, 8-0, this time.

State College and Harrisburg picked up series-opening wins. The Spikes beat Mahoning Valley, 5-3, while the Senators topped Somerset, 7-4. Altoona and Hartford were postponed.
