It felt like this was the year for something special but it wasn’t to be for the Philadelphia 76ers. Fifth-seeded Atlanta finished off the upset of top-seeded Philadelphia with a 103-96 Game Seven win in the NBA’s Eastern Conference semifinals. The Hawks will now play Milwaukee for a berth in The Finals.

San Francisco knocked off the Phillies in the finale of their weekend series, 11-2. Cleveland edged the Pirates, 2-1. Both PA teams have scheduled days off today.

Port Royal Speedway was rained out on Saturday but Sunday’s NASCAR Cup race went off as planned with red-hot Kyle Larson winning his third straight race after three consecutive runner-up finishes.

Just  two weeks after being booted from The Memorial with a six-stroke lead after 54 holes due to a positive COVID test result, Jon Rahm shot a final round 67 to win the PGA’s U.S. Open, a one-stroke victory over Louis Oosthuizen.

And, in area minor league baseball action, State College nipped Williamsport, 5-4. Reading defeated Harrisburg, 7-3, and Erie beat Altoona, 6-4.
