A couple of days after blowing an 18-point lead in a loss to Atlanta, the top-seeded Sixers blew an even bigger lead, 26 points this time, as the Hawks beat Philly, 109-106, last night. The win moves five-seed Atlanta within one game of bouncing the 76er’s from the playoffs. Game Six is tomorrow night in Atlanta.
The Phillies avoided a sweep in Los Angeles with a 2-0 win over the Dodgers. It was the first time L.A. has been shut out since September of 2019, a span of 139 games. The Pirates, meanwhile, lost to Washington, 3-1.
And Mahoning Valley beat the State College Spikes, 6-3, while over in the double-A Northeast, Harrisburg took care of Reading, 7-2, Altoona doubled up Erie, 4-2.
