A two-vehicle crash Monday morning in Huntingdon County left one person dead.  State Police say 59-year-old Wendy Reitz of Warriors Mark died at the scene of the collision on Warriors Mark Road in Franklin Township at about 7:50 am.  Reitz’s vehicle was struck head-on by a Ram 1500 driven by 42-year-old Richard Ewing of Tyrone.  Ewing was transported to UPMC Altoona for treatment.

State Senator Judy Ward (R-30) and state Representative Jeff Wheeland (R-83) are promoting a plan that will allow voters to decide if the Pennsylvania Constitution should be amended to require identification each time a voter casts a ballot.  Currently, voters are required to show identification the first time they vote at a polling place. Senate Bill 735 and the companion bill, House Bill 1596, asks voters to decide if identification should be required every time a ballot is cast. The language must be passed in two consecutive legislative sessions.  The earliest the proposed amendment would reach voters for consideration is May 2023.  Unlike a piece of legislation, Constitutional Amendments do not need the Governor’s approval.  The bills would go straight to the voters for their input.

Wreaths Across America’s (WAA) Mobile Education Exhibit (MEE), which has been traveling the country to honor our nations veterans, is making several stops in Pennsylvania. The goal of the exhibit is to bring community together and teach patriotism while remembering the service and sacrifice of our nation’s heroes.  The exhibit will be in Harrisburg on Friday. You can sponsor a veteran’s wreath for $15 at www.wreathacrossamerica.org.
