At this time, there is a priority police incident at 402 South Logan Blvd in Burnham. There are road closures in the area. The public is advised to stay away from the scene for safety purposes. The Mifflin County Regional Police Department, along with other local police departments, and State Police Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) are on the scene. The roadway is closed from Kish Pike to Freedom Avenue in Burnham. There are detours in place.

Authorities in Juniata County say a 76-year-old Mifflintown man died as a result of suicide. State Police responded to North 5th Street in Mifflintown May 26th after a 911 call. The victim was not identified by authorities.

Citing concerns over how COVID-19 deaths were reported, House Majority Leader Kerry Benninghoff (R-171) and state Senator Judy Ward (R-30) were joined by Pennsylvania coroners yesterday to highlight a bill that clarifies when deaths must be reported. Senate Bill 327 makes it clear that certain circumstances of death shall be reported to the coroner, including any disease constituting a health disaster emergency or pandemic. Benninghoff and Ward were flanked by coroners from throughout Pennsylvania to underscore discrepancies in numbers of COVID deaths reported by the DOH. A similar bill was recently vetoed by Governor Wolf.

The cause of death for a Huntingdon County man remains undetermined. State Police investigated the death of a 49-year-old man May 30th on Church Street in Three Springs. Anyone with information should contact State Police at Huntingdon.
