A four-pack of big time playoff games today, Mifflin County takes on State College for the District VI 6A baseball championship, while the Mount Union boys battle Southern Huntingdon for the 2A title. The Mifflin County softball team takes on Erie McDowell in a PIAA play-in game. And the East Juniata softball team takes on Wyalusing in a D4 2A semifinal.

It was a rough holiday for the Phillies and Pirates. Cincinnati spanked the Fightin’s, 11-1, while Kansas City took care of the Buccos, 7-3.

Washington stayed alive in its best-of-seven first round NBA playoff series with the Sixers. The Wizards now trail three games to one after winning last evening, 122-114. Worse news for Philly is that superstar center Joel Embiid left the game with a knee injury. Game Five is tomorrow night.

And State College earned its first MLB Draft League win, shutting out Frederick yesterday, 4-0.
