Older adults who will soon be turning 65 and are not yet enrolled in Medicare can attend a free virtual event to learn more about their healthcare coverage options. The Pennsylvania Department of Aging’s “Welcome to Medicare” Virtual Fair will be June 23rd from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The event will feature national presentations from the State Health Insurance Assistance Programs on Medicare eligibility, enrollment, and coverage options. Geisinger continues to offer COVID-19 vaccine walk-in events this week. Walk-in vaccinations will be available Saturday (May 29th) at the Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital Vaccine Center on Highland Avenue Extended in Lewistown from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Geisinger is offering the Pfizer vaccine, which is a two-dose vaccine administered 21 days apart.
Thieves stole several items from a Huntingdon County residence sometime in the last month. According to State Police, a generator, a portable air conditioner, a propane can, and a Blackstone griddle were removed from the Bear Meadows Road area of Petersburg sometime between April 30th and May 23rd. Stolen items are valued at more than $600. Anyone with information should contact State Police at Huntingdon at 814-627-3161.
