Miami beat the Phillies yesterday, 3-1. St. Louis knocked off the Pirates, 8-5. The Yankees, behind a Corey Kluber no-hitter, shutout Texas, 2-0. It was the second no-hitter in two days, fourth this month and sixth of the season, not including the seven-inning no-no Arizona’s Madison Bumgarner through in half of a doubleheader. The MLB single-season record is seven and we’re not even a third of the way into this season.
A two-run homer accounted for the game’s only scoring, as Harrisburg defeated Altoona yesterday, 2-0.
Closer to home, East Juniata beat the Midd-West baseball team, 7-1, while Mifflin County lost to Red Land, 9-2.
