Mifflin County’s softball team took care of State College. Mackenzie Burdge drove in four, Madison Myers scored three times and Devanie Codrack went six scoreless in the Huskies’ 10-0 win. In area baseball, Mifflin County scored twice in the bottom of the seventh for a 2-1 walkoff win against State College.

In the big leagues, the Pirates nipped Kansas City, 2-1, while St. Louis took care of the Phillies, 5-2.

Another 5-0 win for the Juniata tennis team, which improves to 12-1 overall even without district finalist Max Lauver sitting this one out.  In the D6 tournament yesterday, Mifflin County’s Trent Shade and Gavin Ream both lost in straight sets.

Susquenita was the overall winner of a tri-meet with East Juniata and West Shore Christian’s track and field teams. EJ’s Logan Strawser did pick up individual wins for the Tigers in the 1600 and 3200 races. Jake Brackbill also won twice for the Tigers, taking the discus and shot. Ethan Roe won the long jump. Susquenita won each of the girl’s events.

And the Pens and Flyers both lost last night. New Jersey over Philly, 6-4, and Boston with the 3-1 win over Pittsburgh.
