Red Land’s baseball team blanked Mifflin County, 13-0. Also yesterday, Upper Dauphin defeated Juniata, 5-3, while East Juniata scored three first inning runs but lost to Newport, 6-3. The East Juniata girls, meanwhile, scored three in the seventh to beat Newport, 4-1. Elsewhere, Upper Dauphin cruised past Juniata, 20-3.

The Pirates doubled up San Diego yesterday, 8-4. The Phillies, meanwhile, lost two to the New York Mets. Scheduled to go seven innings, the opener went eight. The Fightin’s took a 3-2 lead in the top of the eighth but gave two back in the bottom half, losing 4-3. The Mets also won game two, 4-0.

Former Mifflin County Huskies Isaac Maclay and Evan Mock helped Juniata College to a doubleheader split with Elizabethtown. Maclay was 3-7 with three RBI and two runs scored on the day while Mock went 1-4, scoring a pair of runs and stealing a base.

In area lacrosse, Danville shut out Mifflin County, 22-0.

And Washington skated past the Flyers in the NHL, 6-1. Philly, loser of two straight, is in Pittsburgh tomorrow night.
