A one-vehicle weekend crash in Perry County resulted in one person being flown to Hershey Medical Center for treatment. According to State Police, 35-year-old Eric Miller of Newport was the operator of a BMW that failed to negotiate a curve Saturday afternoon on Creek Road in Oliver Township. The vehicle left the roadway and struck an embankment before rolling over. The driver was ejected during the crash. Charges are pending a toxicology report.

Recent legislation introduced in the state Senate will enable Pennsylvanians renewing their driver’s license or vehicle registrations to donate to the PA Breast Cancer Coalition’s Research Grants Initiative. Senate Bill 445, introduced by Senator Bob Mensch (R-24) currently has 35 co-sponsors. The Research Grants Initiative was created in 1997 to fund researchers working to find better treatments and cures for all women facing breast cancer.
With only six months left until the federal enforcement of REAL ID begins for commercial domestic air travel and other federal purposes, PennDOT is reminding Pennsylvania residents to gather their needed documents as soon as possible if they want REAL ID-compliant driver’s licenses and photo ID cards. To date, PennDOT has issued approximately 1.1 million REAL ID products. The REAL ID federal law goes into effect on October 1st.
