A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle earlier this week in Perry County. State Police say 61-year-old Donald Myers of Duncannon was struck by a Chevy Trailblazer driven by 32-year-old Jay Hartman of Newport Sunday night on State Road in Penn Township. Myers was pronounced dead at Holy Spirit Hospital.
Authorities in Huntingdon County have arrested an Alexandria man for indecent assault. According to State Police, 30-year-old Lucas Steele sexually assaulted multiple female juveniles between February 26th and 28th on Main Street in Alexandria. Anyone with information should contact State Police at Huntingdon.

A new study from SmartAsset uses IRS data to find locations in the U.S. where small businesses are most prominent. The study examines data from counties across the country to find areas with the most small business owners, and the most small business income. The index value for these counties is based on how well they perform in each category. According to the study, in Pennsylvania, Chester County ranks #1. Snyder County is second, followed by Juniata County at #3.

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has announced $2.4 million ($2,400,969) in Driving PA Forward grants for cleaner fuel transportation projects that will take 62 older diesel vehicles off the road to help improve air quality. The grant funding comes from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Pennsylvania’s share of the national settlement with Volkswagen Group of America for cheating on EPA emissions tests. The nine funded projects will replace older diesel vehicles with new cleaner diesel, or compressed natural gas-powered vehicles.
