The Juniata High School Music Department is holding an instrument drive to obtain additional instruments for our beginning students.

Brad Eargle, the JHS music director, joined the Merf Morning Show to give us even more information. See below for the flyer.

While many of our beginners rent or purchase their own instruments, some families don’t have the financial means to do so. We never want to turn students away, so having an adequate supply of quality instruments is essential. Right now, we are at critically low supply levels, with several types of instruments completely checked out to students.

Our instrumental ensembles allow students to collaborate, compromise, think critically about their own work, and develop creativity. All of these are essential skills for our community’s future. Put a smile on a kid’s face, clear some space in your house, and give the gift of music!

Don’t have an instrument but want to help? The Juniata-Tuscarora Band Boosters are accepting donations to help with the cost of repairs. Donated instruments typically cost between $150-200 each to refurbish for student use, so any amount you can give will help.

Instruments and donations for repairs can be dropped off between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM at the offices at Juniata High School from March 22-26. If you need an alternate drop-off time, contact JHS Music Director Brad Eargle at
