Authorities arrested a Lewistown man after an incident last weekend in the borough.  Lewistown Police responded to a report of an agitated male on South Walnut Street just before 9:00 am on March 13th.  According to the report, 42-year-old James Fye was involved in a disagreement.  He told the other individual he would be “ready” when the police arrived, and retrieved a .30-caliber rifle.  Police made contact with Fye, who refused to leave the residence.  He eventually relinquished the firearm to another individual.  Fye had a criminal history dating back to 2006 which prevented him from legally possessing a firearm.  He was taken into custody without incident and placed in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility.

Police in Juniata County received a report of theft by deception earlier this week.  On Tuesday, a Honey Grove woman told police she received a tax bill for more than $9,500 for unemployment funds she did not receive.  The State Police investigation will continue.
