The Big Ten men’s tournament gets underway today. In the day’s last of two games, 11th-seeded Penn State plays #14 Nebraska. The teams have played twice since Valentine’s Day, each winning once; the Huskers by one, the Lions by three.
In the Big Ten’s women’s tournament, tenth-seeded Penn State takes on #7 Michigan State at 6:30 tonight.
In the NHL, the Pens doubled up the New York Rangers, 4-2, while the Flyers beat Buffalo in a shootout, 5-4.
The Pirates earned a Grapefruit League victory, hammering Atlanta, 10-1. Toronto beat the Phillies, 4-1.
And Villanova head coach Jay Wright is a finalist for the Basketball Hall of Fame, joining 13 others, including Chris Bosh, Tim Hardaway and Ben Wallace. With two championships already under his belt, Wright has the Wildcats poised for another run, ranked 11th in the latest coaches’ poll with a 16-5 record.
