Mifflin County’s girls beat Chambersburg last evening, 61-34. Marissa Gingrich with 19 for the Huskies. Brianna Bodtorf chipped in 17 and Kate Knable 13 more. Mifflin County’s boys lost to Mechanicsburg, 49-24, while the East Juniata boys knocked off Newport, 48-39. Tanner Barth led the Tigers with 15. Wayne Dressler had 14. Owen Dressler also reached double-digits, scoring 11.

Mifflin County’s girls swam a double-dual yesterday, beating  Penns valley but losing to Bellefonte. Rachel King of the Huskies won the 500-free and was second in the 200.

Former state champs out of Mifflin County, Hayden and Trent Hidlay, are among the top seeds for the upcoming ACC wrestling championships. Hayden Hidlay is seeded first at 157 for NC State, while teammate and younger brother Trent is second at 184.

Kasperi Kapanen scored in overtime as the Penguins nipped Washington, 3-2, in the NHL. In the NBA, Tobias Harris had a team-high 23 points in leading the Sixers past the Raptors in Toronto last night, 109-102.

Tiger Woods is recovering after a one-vehicle crash yesterday. The golfer underwent surgery to repair what his doctor called significant injuries to his right leg.

And Penn State’s men topped Nebraska last evening, 86-83.
