The Juniata boys are 9-3 after beating Newport last night, 67-31. G.G. Ortiz had 23 points and five assists for the Indians. Elsewhere, East Juniata’s boys got 15 points from Tanner Barth in defeating Halifax, 40-34.  Mifflin County’s boys lost to Lower Dauphin, 60-32, while the Husky girls took down Lower Dauphin, 58-44, thanks in part to a team-high 14-point effort from Kate Knable.

Also yesterday, in the NHL, Washington beat the Penguins, 3-1.
