Third-ranked Penn State picked up a big win against #2 Michigan yesterday, giving head coach Cael Sanderson his 200th coaching victory along the way. The Lions’ 18-13 win was highlighted by Eighth-ranked Carter Starocci at 174, as he upset second-ranked Logan Mass, 7-1 in a tiebreaker.
It took a lot longer to finish than expected, thanks to a five-hour rain delay, but Michael McDowell won yesterday’s Daytona 500. Chase Elliott ran second, Austin Dillon third.
The Penguins doubled up Washington in the NHL, 6-3. Philadelphia and the Rangers were postponed.
And Nebraska defeated the Penn State men’s basketball team, 62-61. Next up for the Lions, #4 Ohio State on Thursday night.
