Governor Tom Wolf and Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine have announced stricter COVID-19 mitigation orders for the next three weeks.  The temporary measures begin Saturday (December 12th), and remain in effect until 8 am on January 4th, 2021. All in-person indoor dining in the retail food services industry is prohibited. Outdoor dining, take-out food service, and take-out alcohol sales are permitted and may continue. Indoor gatherings and events of more than 10 persons are prohibited. Outdoor gatherings and events of more than 50 persons are prohibited.  The orders also extend to fitness centers and the entertainment industry.

The Pennsylvania House Republican Caucus has filed an informational amicus brief with the U.S. Supreme Court regarding the election lawsuit filed by the State of Texas over the conduct of the 2020 General Election in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgia and Wisconsin.  The brief outlines the timeline and numerous ways that the process under which the 2020 General Election was conducted in Pennsylvania in no way reflects the laws as passed by the General Assembly and signed by the governor.

For more than a quarter of a century, Rite Aid and The Rite Aid Foundation have supported the life-saving work of Geisinger Janet Weis Children’s Hospital as part of its relationship with 53 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.  This past summer, Rite Aid customers donated $1.9 million during the annual Miracle Balloon Campaign.  Recognizing the profound need posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, The Foundation this year will contribute an additional $3.5 million in grant funding on top of the funds raised in stores.  Children’s Miracle Network at Geisinger has raised more than $68 million for pediatric services, equipment and programs throughout Geisinger Health System since 1984.  For more information, visit www.geisinger.org/cmn.
