There have been many conflicting messages regarding the COVID-19 Testing site that is being set up for Mifflin County.  The Mifflin County Office of Public Safety says testing site will be at the Pennsylvania State Fire Academy on Riverside Drive in Lewistown.  Learn more by clicking here. 

A House bill that would have protected businesses, schools, nursing homes and others from frivolous lawsuits was vetoed by Governor Tom Wolf.  Senator Kristin Phillips-Hill (R-York) says forthcoming legal challenges will likely be extremely expensive, and if a school district is sued, it will result in higher school property taxes for PA taxpayers. 

A Beavertown woman escaped injury Sunday night when her vehicle struck a deer in Decatur Township.  State Police say 25-year-old Amber Freed was the operator of a Ford Focus on Back Maitland Road Sunday just after 9:30 pm.  A deer entered the roadway as Freed’s vehicle approached Kepner Lane.  The mishap caused disabling damage to the vehicle but the driver was not hurt.
