Number 10 Penn State opens its hockey season at #11 Minnesota tonight and tomorrow. The all-time series is knotted at 15 wins and a tie each but the Lions have rolled recently, going 8-1-1 over the last 10 meetings.
Penn State three-time NCAA champion Ed Ruth is headed to North Carolina State as an athlete developmental coach for the Wolfpack Wrestling Club. Former Mifflin County state champions Trent and Hayden Hidlay wrestle at NC State. Both will take part in the 2020 FloWrestling RTC Cup early next month*.
Another week of NFL action kicks off tonight when a pair of 6-3 NFC West teams hook up. Seattle hosts Arizona in this one. Sunday at one, the Steelers are in Jacksonville and the Eagles take on the Browns in Cleveland.
Minnesota took Georgia one-and-done Anthony Edwards with the first overall pick in last night’s NBA Draft. The Sixers took Kentucky’s Tyrese Maxey at 21. Penn State’s Lamar Stevens went undrafted bUt signed soon after with Cleveland.
And Pitt hangs in at #9 in the latest women’s college volleyball rankings. Texas is still number one.
