State Senator Judy Ward (R-30) has called for an audit of Pennsylvania’s 2020 election in order to ensure the integrity of the Commonwealth’s electoral process. Ward joined several other House and Senate lawmakers earlier this week for a news conference calling for the audit to be led by the legislature, and demanding that election results not be certified until the audit is complete. Ward announced last week that she plans to introduce legislation to improve election security in the near future, and also called for the removal of Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar. The interim Majority Chairman of the State Government Committee, Seth Grove (R-Dover), has announced the committee will begin holding hearings on the process undertaken in the 2020 election. The Senate Republican State Government Committee announced it will also review the state’s election results as a way to restore trust in the vote.
