Pennsylvania’s twenty electoral votes were awarded to former Vice President Joe Biden on Saturday, giving the Democrat the margin of victory in the Presidential race. President Trump has not conceded, however, and pledged legal challenges in a number of swing states, including the Commonwealth, over allegations of mail-in voter fraud.

The Mifflin County School District has gone to full remote learning for a two-week span now through November 20th. The school district plans to return to four days in person and one day remote during the week of November 23rd. In a letter to parents last Friday, Superintendent James Estep said the school district is struggling with operational functions due to additional positive COVID-19 cases, along with staff quarantines. The Juniata County School District will be offering Parent Teacher Conferences only via phone or virtual platform due to an increase in positive COVID-19 cases. More information can be found at the school district website.

The Huntingdon Area School District is returning to a blended – hybrid model of learning district wide for the week beginning today November 9th. Data received by administrators shows a leveling off or decline in confirmed cases and incident rates for the most recent week as compared to the previous 7 days.

Sales are underway for the Pennsylvania Lottery’s New Year’s Millionaire Raffle, which features eight $100,000 Weekly Drawings leading up to the January 2nd, 2021 drawing. This is the 15th year that the PA Lottery is offering the special raffle. The January 2nd drawing will award 6,000 cash prizes totaling more than $5 million.
